Carlee and Sean's Chic Barr Mansion Wedding
Sean & Carlee’s modern Barr Mansion wedding was one of those weddings that you wish you could relive over and over again. Not only was it breathtaking, but it was a day that truly represented Carlee, Sean and their love for one another. As planners & designers nothing makes us happier than when our couples think outside of the box & make decisions that really reflect their own style. Sean & Carlee did just that.
Incredible floral installations by Stems Floral Design, leather accents on the menus by Jolie & Co., and a black & white palette with dusty blue accents were only a few of the many unique design details that made this wedding so memorable.
Below read a brief Q&A with bride, Carlee, on the wedding planning process.
Q: How did you two meet?
Carleee: We crossed paths at a ranch in Llano, Texas. Sean was taking a year to travel around America and we met through friends at a ranch party. I went to visit Sean about a month after at Beaver Creek where Sean was working a ski season. We kept in touch with Sean stopping through Austin on his road trip, and meeting in Washington D.C. We were officially dating about 6 months after meeting.
Q: How long did you have to plan your wedding?
Carlee: 18 months to give international guests time to plan their vacation for the wedding.
Q: Where did y'all live while planning your wedding?
Carlee: We lived in Sydney, Australia.
Q: Why did you choose to have a destination wedding?
Carlee: We had our wedding in Austin, Texas where I am from.
Q: What was your final guest count?
Carlee: 180
Q: What inspired the design of your wedding?
Carlee: I wanted something timeless and simple with neutral colors that let the surrounding gardens and décor speak for itself. I love simple things and wanted the real show to be the day and the people. I think I’ve forgotten the term that Kate used! I gave Kate my vision and she helped me develop the perfect color palette to match.
Q: What is your favorite memory of the day?
Carlee: Sean and I did a photo shoot right after the ceremony with just us two and a bottle of champagne. It allowed us to get some great photos in the moment, but also allowed us to spend time together, just us two. The day goes quickly and it’s often never just the two of you. I was able to enjoy the sunset with him during our first few hours of marriage alone. That was pretty special.
Q: Now that you are married, what advice would you give to a couple currently planning their own wedding?
Carlee: A planner is a must! We could not have pulled something that amazing together so far away without Wild Sky Events. It also just eases the stress and helps to make sure the small details get paid attention and you can relax and actually enjoy the day.
