Branding Design at Corporate Events
For any corporate event, the first thing I think about is how can we tie this event back to the brand? I want to do more than just put a logo up on a wall, I want to design something that really stands out, connects with the message of my clients company and is unique enough that guests will want to share via social media. This way if the event gains traction on social media it is not just a photo of another pretty party but something that will help my client get a decent digital ROI return.
Here are some of my favorite branding ideas and designs I have seen in the the past year. These ideas are all absolutely brilliant and I love how creative the event industry is with trying to solve the issue of making branding fun and interesting.
1. The Entrance
Everyone loves a good entrance so help your guests make the most of it! Get creative with step and repeats or event a branded entrance wall. These types of designs create a great photo opportunity for the events professional photographer as well as guests wanting to post their own photos.
2. The Walk
One of the hardest spaces to decorate and brand is the awkward area between the entrance and the actual event space. This is usually where registration and coat check reside. While on your venue walk-throughs with your team take a look at all the architectural elements of this space and think about what alternative branding displays could be placed there. But whatever you do, do not let it be dead space. This area creates a holding pattern where guests will be waiting to check-in and you will have their attention, you do not want to lose the event excitement created with the entrance decor.
3. Second Impression
Now that guests have been wowed at the entrance and had their attention diverted on their way to the main event space it is time to really bring home the event message and branding. Every corporate event should have a purpose and which should be easily understood from the minute the guests walk in the door.
There are many ways to accomplish this with event design; from unique ceiling branding, centerpieces, AV displays, lighting, color scheme and art installations. Take a look at the gallery below to see what the event experts have been doing around the country.
4. Interactive Elements
Branding should be visible at a corporate event but you do not need to hit your guest over the head with it. If you are going for a more subtle approach get creative with interactive activities, games and interactive elements.
5. Extra Tidbits
- Clings work wonders from branding windows, to games and props. Don't forget they can come in all shapes and sizes but remember to add in labor to your budget to cover the installation costs! Learned this the hard way. Never again will I adhere 150 clings to small vases, it takes a really long time!
- Lighting will help set the tone for any event, use it! Gobos, uplighting, texture/pattern washes or as it's own decor elements (Edison bulbs to inflatable units) will help turn any space into an amazing branded event.
- Custom fabricated signage is not to be ignored. Almost any text or art piece can be laser cut out of foam, wood, metal you name it. Get creative with your designs and partner up with an amazing fabrication company. Your events will immediately jump to the next level.
